2015 Leaders’ Summit
After reaching capacity with last year’s Summit we mentioned that we expected to need a bigger venue this year. Bloomberg stepped up to host us – 142 student leaders from across 47 universities registered this year to represent a combined total of 78 student groups.
Due to the size of the event, we had to switch from a round-table format to a series of panels. Clips from the student leaders’ panel has been posted here.
In addition to having student leaders speak, this year we had a panel of industry leaders featuring top management from JPMorgan, Neuberger Berman, and Avenue Capital.
In the run-up to the event we also partnered with Seeking Alpha to host a stock pitch competition. The winner, Jonathan Chang from Queen’s University, got to present his pitch to a panel of hedge fund managers moderated by Nathaniel Baker, Managing Editor of Bloomberg’s Hedge Fund Brief.
While we are happy with the way this year’s Summit turned out, after expanding the event every year since its inception in 2011, next year we will most likely go for a smaller format to allow for more meaningful discussion among attendees. We hope to see you then!
