Following up on our previous bit of validation:

• Two of the three student finalists in the 2015 Sohn Contest were Upgrade Capital alumni. Lily Miao was another Spring 2014 Fellow; Venkata Amarthaluru has been on our platform since Fall 2012.
• Jonathan Chang, the winner of our “Ultimate Challenge“, was chosen by a panel of judges led by David Einhorn as the winner of a stock pitch competition hosted this Fall by Sohn Canada.

We are pleased to announce that this year the Quant Competition is being expanded to give participants the option of choosing from several lines of research, each sponsored by a different firm:

• Two Sigma is sponsoring the data science vertical
• Morgan Stanley is sponsoring the quantitiative strategy vertical
• Galatea Associates is  sponsoring the software engineering vertical

Our goal is to help all students with quantitative backgrounds figure out what precise kinds of quant finance are the best fit for them – and to gain relevant hands-on experience in the process.
